Good to see this new initiative supporting the development of the Irish gin distilling industry, visitor attractions and markets at home and abroad.
The Irish Gin Strategy 2022-2026 from Drinks Ireland - Ibec, details how Irish gin and gin has experienced a number of years of very fast growth, where sales soared. Between 2014 and 2020 the category grew by 184%.
A new strategy has set out plans by Irish Gin producers and brand owners to maintain market share and grow sales by 2026. The plan sets out a range of goals and actions to drive exports in key markets, develop a vibrant domestic market, support the viability of Irish Gin distilleries and ensure the quality and standards of Irish Gin are protected.

Because we handle tens of thousands of cases of this bubbly stuff every year, we thought we’d pop up a couple of interesting tidbits on International Prosecco Day today. Did you know that Prosecco hails from Northeast Italy and last year in Ireland over a million cases of Italian wine were sold here breaking the million volume barrier for the first time in a decade. In fact, one in every ten bottles of wine consumed here comes from bella Italia! Like in Ireland saying ‘Sláinte’ is a toast to good health and so it is in Italy! Salute!

We are pleased to support a new start-up venture, WineSpark, and add them to our valued portfolio of clients in the wine business in Ireland. Set up by Eamon Fitzgerald, WineSpark will connect winemakers with members and will launch this month. With the rapid shift in wine retailing in Ireland to online purchasing, DVL are investing and adapting to support our customers via efficient order fulfilment, inventory management and deliveries nationwide.
